Ohio Wines Care

Brandeberry Winery

Brandeberry Winery does lots of fundraisers. Our biggest one each year is Dogtoberfest, a fundraiser for the Clark County SPCA. We have raised $10k in the last two years for homeless animals at the Event.  We have had Dogtoberfest for 14 years now and it’s loved and supported a lot by the community. We did a fundraiser after a sheriff was killed in our county. We released our Hero in Blue wine and from its release we raised over $13k to purchase protective safety shields for each police cruiser in Clark County. We have raised money for people in the community who needed service dogs, a diabetic assistance dog, and a seizure alert dog. We have raised money for funeral expenses for families in our community who lost children in a car accident. We raised money for shooting victims when there was a mass shooting in the Oregon District in Dayton. Whatever pulls at my heartstrings typically is doing the same thing for our community and they are very supportive of our fundraisers.

Knotty Vines Farm & Winery

We’ve had a day where a part of our food (grilled burgers/brats) sales went to our county humane society. People could bring their dogs out and we handed out collapsible dog dishes. Are working on a fundraiser for a school to help kids who don’t have supplies/backpacks.

Goddess Wine House Winery

Goddess Wine House Winery is an active member of the Ashtabula Lions Club. Wendy collects used eyeglasses for the Lions program. We also sell soy candles, proceeds benefit Frank N Friends Farm animal rescue. A rescue for sick and terminally ill animals.

Hundley Cellars

Hundley Cellars is passionate about mental health.  We offer all of our employees $2000 a year directly from our profits to secure mental health care. We also hold an annual fundraiser to raise a significant amount for a local charity “Peace of Mind” which offers scholarships to qualified candidates for Mental Health Care and trains mental health workers.

Additionally, we partner with local scouting agencies to complete our hand harvest every fall, donating more than $20/hour, resulting in over $45,000 in donations in 10 years.

Rosabella Winery

These are the charity fundraisers that we do during the year. One during May is for the Melanoma Research Foundation and the other is during October for the Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village.

Help us in honoring our friend who lost his battle with stage 4 metastatic melanoma and in raising awareness and funding for melanoma and skin cancer. During May, $1 of every bottle of Zoom Zoom Peach and Sheriff Dominic Pinot Grigio, and Zoom Zoom Sangria sold will go to the Melanoma Research Foundation. During the month we will also be raffling off a basket filled with goodies, wine, and a Rosabella gift card. All money raised for the basket raffle will be donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation.

Help our dog Charlie support his favorite charity. During October, $1 of every bottle of Tail Wagging Blackberry and Tail Wagging Sangria sold will go to the Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village. The Rescue Village holds a special place in our hearts since it is where we adopted Charlie. During the month we will also be raffling off a basket filled with goodies, wine, and a Rosabella gift card. All money raised for the basket raffle will be donated to the Geauga Humane Society Rescue Village.

Lincoln Way Vineyards

Ashland, Wayne, and Medina Young Ag Professionals Toy Drive - The event is free to the community and includes reindeer in the parking lot, a visit by Santa, and food to enjoy. The group only asks that a toy or cash donation be brought to support Toys for Tots (Wayne & Medina Co.) or Associated Charities of Ashland Co. to help bring the joy of agriculture to children in need during the holiday season. We serve as the host for the event at no cost to the group and one of our employees is part of the family farm that brings the reindeer. Last year the event brought in over $12,500 in donations of cash and toys!

Christmas Bell Concert - Several area churches combine their bell choirs to put on a Christmas Music concert during the holiday season. We host at no charge to the organizers, and they put on the show free of charge to the community. All they ask is a donation which they turn around and give to OSU Cancer Center in Columbus to put towards Cancer Research. The first year was last year 2023 and raised just shy of $2000. The date is already tentatively set for 2024 (Dec 7).

Various Youth Sporting Organizations - As we have food trucks year-round on Friday and Saturday evenings, we carve out times for various organizations to set up a food service instead of a food truck. They serve a meal by donation only and raise funds for their organization. Some groups have raised funds for the Post Prom, Youth Football, Girls JV/Varsity Volleyball Team, Girls JV/Varsity Soccer Team, Club Volleyball scholarships, etc. We don't charge them to set up and provide most of the equipment and materials for serving (i.e. roasters, serving utensils, dinnerware, etc.). So far this year we have on the calendar one tomorrow evening Jan 26 and another one on August 2nd.

Local Family Benefits - We have had a few occasions where families that are customers of ours approached us to host a benefit for a friend or relative with medical issues. Usually a cancer diagnosis. To date, we have hosted two of these events with the first one raising $15k and the second over $50k.

IncludeAbility - IncludeAbility is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to raising funds to issue grants to those who need to improve handicapped accessibility of their home, etc. Every spring they host a benefit fundraiser brunch at the winery as their main fundraiser for the year. In addition, the winery is currently allowing them to put igloos on the patio and all rental fees from the igloos benefit the organization.

Wayne County Fair, 4-H, and FFA - Jim serves as a Wayne County Fair Board of Director while Alex works on the Fair Staff and Ari volunteers to assist run the dairy shows. The winery also supports the Jr. Fair by purchasing market livestock giving back to the next generation of participants as all three (Jim, Alex, and Ari) are alumni of the Jr. Fair program. The winery hires 4-H clubs and FFA chapters to plant vines, pick grapes, park cars, etc. as fundraisers for the individual clubs. The FFA chapter applies the money earned to each student's activities so that they can participate in various state and national conferences/trips. The winery has also served as host to two non-family FFA members (Alex and Ari have earned theirs too) in helping them earn their FFA American Degree (highest level) by serving as their Supervised Agricultural Experience (essentially a paid internship)

Chateau Winery & Vineyard

We donated to over 25 different organizations/causes in 2023. We donate a deck and gazebo rental. Many charities use it for their auctions or a nice prize. The total value was over $3500.

Klingshirn Winery

Klingshirn Winery hosts vendor game nights…….Through the summer, the third Thursday of each month is an evening when home craft and product vendors are invited to set up display tables for their wares.  The public is encouraged to participate by purchasing playing cards from NPOs which can then be filled by each vendor having their time at the podium discussing their products and providing the keys to the card fulfillment.  The first consumer to fill a card receives a door prize from that featured vendor.

NPOs that have benefitted from these opportunities include animal shelters including parakeet rescue, school foundations, scouting organizations, and garden clubs.  Snack sales are another opportunity for the NPOs to earn donations.  Some NPOs have netted upwards of 200 to 500 dollars.

Gervasi Vineyard

Our owners feel strongly about the importance of supporting our county’s United Way. Each year we have an employee fundraising drive and GV matches those funds. We typically donate 10 – 15K to The United Way of Greater Stark County each year and we are very proud of that. The Swaldos also want to support our local chapter of The American Heart Association and Aultman Hospital’s Women’s Board. For those events, we typically will donate an experience, like an overnight stay along with a Spa experience and/or a gift card to be used in our restaurants.

We also donate gift baskets and Spa certificates from time to time, based on our owner’s input.

Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery

In January we did a canned food drive and gathered a decent amount that we donated to the Lake Township FISH, a food pantry in Hartville.

This month we have partnered with Summa Health to raise money for American Heart Month. We are donating 10% of all Redneck Red and Sinfully Red sales during February. We are also selling $1.00 paper hearts to post on the bar, 100% of proceeds will be donated from this. Finally, we are hosting a special Music Bingo night this Friday, February 16th that will feature special giveaways from us and Summa. We will sell raffle tickets to raise more money.

Finally, our largest contribution comes from our weekly cruise-ins that run from May - September. We do a 50/50 raffle at each one and donate 100% of those proceeds to a local military charity. These cruise-ins bring in a significant amount of traffic and allow us to make an impact through these donations.

Cote Winery

Each month we do a form of "bingo" but 50% of proceeds go to a different charity. For January it was the Morrow County Humane Society, for February it is Woodside Village Care Center. Local businesses around the area donate the baskets that each person wins for their round of Bingo. We also have donations to that charity, so if someone were to bring in a donation that gets them an additional bingo card to play. Let me know what other information I can provide on this piece.

Grand River Cellars

Charity Wines:

Austin's Red and Austin's Blush-$1 of every bottle sold goes to the Northeast Ohio Autism Group for local grants. To date, we have donated over $60,000. Every two years we host a Design a Wine Label competition for kids and adults with autism. They submit artwork and we chose two to go on our wine bottles for the next two years.

Muddy Paw Cabernet Franc and Muddy Paw Semillon, a portion of the sales are donated to The Geauga Rescue Village.

We created a Dog-Friendly Wine Trail called Woof, Wag, and Wine, from June 1st through the 30th in partnership with a couple of our neighboring wineries. Dogs enjoy a tasty treat at each location and their humans enjoy the wine samples and appetizers. This trail benefits the Lake Humane Society.

We host numerous Spaghetti Dinner Fundraisers throughout the year for the area's athletic teams, school clubs, and social organizations. We host these on Monday or Tuesday evenings from 6-8 pm. We do not charge for the rental of the winery and only charge for the cost of the food.

We host, free of charge, Purses and Pastries each year to support the Geneva Business Women's Group. This organization raises money for the area scholarship program.

We donate a portion of our sales from the Ice Wine Festival and the Turkey Trot to the local food banks.

We have donated a great deal of money to area fundraisers in the form of gift certificates, we are a sponsor for our local barn theater, Ag Day, and many others.
