JHARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP – The Autumn Glow Festival will get glowing right after Labor Day, illuminating South River Vineyard with a must-see display of electrifying handmade, traditional Chinese lanterns.
Opening Sept. 4 and running through Nov. 2, guests of all ages can experience the festival’s photo-worthy luminescent night walk and show-stopping entertainment.

Visitors will step into a dazzling escape with hundreds of Chinese lanterns made of modern LED lights combined with traditional hand-crafted lantern frames made from pieces of Chinese silk cloth and steel wire. Each unique, handmade artisan piece holds a story of its own with depictions of Chinese legends and lore, as well as the beauty of nature.
Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment by the award-winning Zigong Acrobatic Troupe. The circus group has traveled the world and will perform incredible show-stopping acts, including juggling, balancing, face-changing, and more. Guests can also stop by on-site vendors, play games, shop for keepsakes, and enjoy a variety of food and drink. It’s a whimsical walk-through experience perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

About South River Vineyard: We are one of the largest growers of vinifera in the area, making old-world selections that are suited for cooler climates. Though these are usually difficult to grow due to the danger of frost damage, South River Vineyard is fortunate to have optimal sites selected in the Grand River Valley AVA, with some of the warmest temperatures in the area. Lake Erie also plays a vital role; its warm breezes prevent frost in the spring and help keep the vines from reaching critical temperatures in the winter.
