A Wine Trail - Lake Erie Shores & Islands Wine Trail-Northwest Ohio Discover the Lake Erie Shores and Islands Wine Trail. Brisk sea breezes and the moderating influence of our Ohio�s own Lake Erie allows our vintners to produce grapes and make wine amid some of the country�s most scenic vistas. Throughout this �cool climate� growing district, historic vineyards and wine families who have farmed them for generations are complemented by new plantings of Rieslings and chardonnays established by dynamic entrepreneurs. Numerous soil types, deposited by years of glacial movements provide fertile ground for great viticulture, new and old.

Beyond great grapes and award winning wines, the region offers a myriad of other activities. Legendary amusement parks, spectacular sunsets, island escapes, the state�s largest concentration of indoor waterparks attract families and empty nesters alike. As an internationally recognized �portal� for birding, enthusiasts travel from around the world to the �Wine Islands� to see nesting bald eagle pairs, track migratory birds from warblers to waterfowl as well as to enjoy permanent residents like the elegant egrets and great blue herons.

We are operating in an 1870 house where the land, pine trees, and water stretch across 1 acre. You are welcome to try samples, buy a glass of wine, or buy the bottle and relax at our facility with a small menu of food items to choose from. Ingredients and small wine making equipment is available for purchase at the winery to make your own wine. Buses are welcome along with other small or large groups. Call ahead to let us know of larger parties of 20 or more to be prepared for your arrival.

Telephone: 419-588-3179     Since 2005, Mac McLelland & Bill Gammie have worked in collaboration to establish the winery and offer a wide variety of wines. The vineyard was planted on the highest point of the farm with a view of Lake Erie. This area was once referred to as "The Pinnacle." As you drive down Mason Rd., you definately won't miss it sitting at the peak of the farm. Our vineyard sits at 834' above sea level, which is 100' + higher than the surrounding areas along the lake. This fact, along with our proximity of 3 miles to Lake Erie, gives us added protection from Spring frosts and allows longer ripening time for our fruit. As well, the rolling land and sandy loam soil provides good drainage and nutrients necessary for proper fruit production.
Our wine bar offers indoor and outdoor seating with spectacular views of the farm's valley and Lake Erie. We have live music on most weekends and can rent a portion of our winery for small private gatherings.
